Earlier this year, Fenit Town Hall raised concerns with Kerry County Council about traffic congestion on the pier during busy Summer months, and asked for pull-in bays to be created so that traffic could pass safely up and down the pier. The Council responded by creating no-parking bays at intervals along the west side of the pier; this is working well and now vehicles can pull in to let oncoming traffic pass by, in what has been hailed as a successful measure.
